Ann Savell

CEO/COO

Ann graduated as a State Registered Nurse in 1982 and entered the pharmaceutical industry 3 years later where she began her career as a Clinical Research Associate with Innovex a highly regarded Contract Research Organisation. Ann has had a career that has spanned both NHS and industry, and she has held roles in teaching, development and management.

Ann has had over 20 years’ experience within clinical, regulatory and quality within the NHS and private sector, her roles have included Director of Operations at OrthoMimetics Ltd, Associate Director of Clinical Operations and Study Management at Prosidion Ltd, and positions at Wyeth UK, GlaxoSmithKline and Associate Director at PPD, a leading global CRO. Ann also spent 4 years at Leo Pharmaceuticals where she completed her MBA with the Open University.

Dr Keith Lau

Lead Scientist (Engineering)

Wai (Keith) Lau obtained a degree in Biomedical Science from King’s College London and a Masters in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at University College London for which he obtained a distinction and was mentioned on the Dean’s list of commendations. He was awarded funding by the EPSRC and the IBME at UCL to undertake his PhD in Prof. Edirisinghe’s laboratory.

His role as lead engineer within AtoCap Ltd. is to spearhead the development of multiple needle co-axial electrospraying technology for industry.

Dr Jennifer Rohn

Lead Scientist (Clinical)

Dr Rohn is head of the Chronic UTI Group in the Division of Medicine at University College London, based at the Royal Free Hospital. She has a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, and has been involved in cell, molecular and microbiological research in both academic and biotech settings in several different countries since 1989. She joined UCL in 2007.

Her particular expertise and interest is in the molecular interactions of pathogens with the human cells they infect, and she has a keen interest in blending basic science with translational research goals in an interdisciplinary, multi-collaborative and clinical setting.
