Dr Dharmasena qualified as a doctor from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine, London in 2005. He is a registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology having entered the North East Thames London Deanery rotation. He has currently taken time out to undertake a PhD under the supervision of Dr Jennifer Rohn and Professor Malone-Lee.
His research interest involves examining the role between bacteria and host cell interaction in urinary tract infection. He is interested in recreating cell culture models of the human urothelium and investigating the effects of infection as well as the detection of fastidious organisms.
Elizabeth Denver qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1977. She has worked as a Research Nurse at UCL since 1990, initially in the field of Diabetes & Cardiovascular Risk, where she undertook several Clinical Drug Trials.
Since 2001 she has been the Senior Research Nurse working with professor Malone-Lee and is primarily responsible for Research Governance. She is also a Hypertension Specialist Nurse at Whittington Health NHS Trust.
